Privacy Policy — FamQuest

FamQuest (“FamQuest”, “the App”) is provided by Volodymyr Zhuk, an individual developer operating under the name “Questy Labs” (“we”, “us”). This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why, and your rights. Contact: privacy@questylabs.com.

1. Who the App is for

FamQuest is intended to be set up and managed by adults (parents/guardians). A parent creates a family and may add family members, including children. Parents are responsible for the information they enter about their family members. The App is not directed to children as defined by COPPA/GDPR-K and is not distributed in Apple’s Kids Category.

2. Information we collect

Account data: email address, display name, and (optionally) a profile photo or avatar you choose.
Family/team data: family/group names, members you add, roles, and invitations.
Content you create: quests/tasks, checklists, deadlines, rewards, points, and related settings.
Photo proofs: photos you capture with the camera or pick from your photo library to attach as task proof. (We request photo/camera permission only when you use these features.)
Push tokens: a device push-notification token, if you enable notifications.
Diagnostics: crash reports and basic technical/usage diagnostics to keep the App stable (via Sentry). We do not use this to build advertising profiles.

We do not sell your personal data and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

3. How we use your data

To provide and operate the App (accounts, families, quests, rewards).
To sync your data across devices and family members.
To send notifications you have enabled.
To diagnose crashes and improve reliability and features.
To comply with legal obligations.

Legal bases (where GDPR applies): performance of a contract (providing the App), your consent (e.g. notifications, photo access), and our legitimate interests (security, diagnostics).

4. Service providers (processors)

We use trusted providers to run the App:

Supabase — authentication, database, and file storage (e.g. avatars and photo proofs).
Sentry — crash and error diagnostics.
Apple / Google — app distribution and push notification delivery.

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security measures. Data may be processed on servers located in the European Union.

5. Data retention

We keep your data while your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete or anonymize your personal data within 30 days, except where we must retain certain records to comply with law. See Account Deletion: https://questylabs.com/famquest/delete-account

6. Your rights

Depending on your region (GDPR/EEA, UK, CCPA/California, and others), you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact privacy@questylabs.com. You can also delete your account directly in the App.

7. Children’s information

Information about children in a family is provided and controlled by the parent or guardian who set up the family. If you believe a child’s data was provided without proper authority, contact privacy@questylabs.com and we will remove it.

8. Security

We use industry-standard measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. We will post the new version here and update the “Effective date”. Material changes will be communicated in the App where appropriate.
